Apartment Living Room
The open plan, living room/dining room is warm and welcoming and the furniture is modern. Recliner armchairs complement the three seater couch and are ideal to relax in, to watch TV (films in English are not dubbed) or a DVD (don’t forget to bring some), read or surf the (wireless) web.
A small library of mainly English novels, thrillers and guide books is developing and guests are welcome to borrow them but not take them away. Book/DVD donations are gratefully received however! Regional and local maps are also available. A secure, double glazed door leads to the balcony. An extendable table accommodates 6-8 diners comfortably.
Twin bed room
There are two double bedrooms. Each has two single beds that can be converted to doubles as necessary, so any combination of four people can be accommodated – two couples, four singles or a couple and two singles. Each bed has a quality memory-foam mattress and is very comfortable. The pillows are mostly feather and down. Bed linen, which is predominantly cotton, is supplied. Duvets or cotton throws are also available. There are good bedside lights – ideal for reading and there’s ample wardrobe and storage space.
Apartment Bedroom
The spacious, master bedroom has a view over the garden and direct access to the balcony via double glazed doors. When the local traffic quietens, its nice to lie and listen to the distant rumble of the sea surf and to awaken to birdsong. To help keep the room cool at night the patio doors can be left open with the shutters down.
Apartment Kitchen
The modern kitchen is well equipped with all mod cons i.e. toaster, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, iron/ironing board. There’s lots of wine storage space and the supermarket next door carries a large, good value, selection, including of Portuguese. The fridge is big enough to keep a good supply of very cold beer and water in as well as food. The breakfast bar seats four comfortably and it’s a great place to plan your day, over a breakfast of freshly baked croissants and fresh fruit bought from the well stocked local supermarket.
Bathroom
The bathroom is fully tiled in blue. There’s a shower, bidet, toilet and a large sink. Large bath towels are provided. And a hairdryer. There’s lots of storage space for toiletries and generally there’s a supply of shampoo and conditioner available for your use.
Apartment Balcony
The south facing balcony seats four and offers a great view across the garden with its well maintained trees and shrubs. It can be accessed via the master bedroom and/or the living room. It’s shielded from the full glare of the summer sun but has full access to the warm, welcoming rays during the autumn and winter.
This is an ideal reading and relaxing-in spot and comfortable balcony furniture is supplied. It’s also perfect for sundowners whilst making plans for the evening – cooking and eating in, ordering a take-away or heading out to one of Carcavelos’ many restaurants / bars or into Lisbon for some night life.
